Mel has been capturing smiles and shenanigans for over 13 years, but she was bitten by the photography bug way back in ancient times (the 1990’s) and had the urge to learn the ropes at a young age. Armed with a 110 film camera, she sought out every angle in her pursuit to utterly dominate the photography industry. Much to her disappointment, it wasn’t that simple or easy.
Over the years, her knowledge outgrew camera after camera, and the next thing she knew, she was gigglesnorting each time she encountered her own early work, thanks to Facebook’s “memories” feature.
The single thing that has stuck with her the most is how much easier it is to get subjects to smile if they feel good. She has made it her mission to deliver the fun, and that’s her secret to capturing you at your absolute best.
Contact us to start planning out your session using our client questionnaire. We'll go over what your vision is, where we'll shoot, and what to expect in our next step. We'll answer all of your questions. We'll exchange contact information, and collect your session fee.
The day of the session, we'll meet up at the agreed upon time and location. We'll take your images, and you'll have a chance to peruse our studio samples to see how they look and feel. We'll also set up a day and time for your ordering session, which you may choose to do in person or via Zoom.
If you're ordering in person, we'll meet at the agreed upon time and location the day of your ordering session. If we're doing a Zoom ordering session, we'll meet up then and present your images to you. We'll help you decide which products are right for you and collect your payment. Your images will be delivered to you once we receive them.

Probably! We’ve taken wedding photos and shot boudoir before, though we have not yet dedicated a page to those types of images. Contact us and we’ll be happy to talk details.
Nope. We cull out all the images that are not up to our quality standards. This includes out of focus shots, blinks, etc. Please trust us, you aren’t missing out.

That depends on the time of the year, and how busy we are. It’s always best to contact at least a month in advance.

The day of your session, we’ll schedule a day and time to show your images to you and allow you to order.
Absolutely! If you send us an image of a wall in your home that you would like to fill, we can create a mockup for you with the images of your choosing so that you can preview the results.
We keep your images on file for up to a year. After that, they may be deleted.
Your photographers time and talent. Barring a few unforeseen circumstances session fee guarantees both parties will be present at the agreed upon day and time to take the pictures.

You can, though this requires an additional fee. Online galleries expire after 24 hours, so please be prepared to make your selections and order within that timeframe. After expiry, there is another fee to reactivate the gallery.
No. Please ask us about our optimized social media package, which contains images that have been resized, sharpened, and optimized for social sharing. We promise they look amazing, and will be better than any screenshot.
We have photographic prints, museum quality paper prints, press printed items such as cards, albums and mini books, metal prints, gallery wrapped canvases, and more.
We have a selection of print and digital products available. We also include archival files in digital format for all sizes above 16×20. All files in digital format will include a print release which allows prints to be made.
We recommend Mpix for most prints. The quality is on par for our prints. They are a professional quality lab that we have used for years. Plus, the turnaround time is quick, with prints delivered quickly.
Yes, if your session took place within the last year. Contact us, and we’ll discuss what your needs are. If it has been more than a year, we may not have your images on file any longer.
Contact us, and we’ll reach out to collect supporting information. Depending on the cause, we may replace it for you.
Yes. We’re sorry for your loss, please contact us to let us know what you need. We’re able to help with images for display, funeral program pamphlets, and video slideshows featuring images of your loved one.
Absolutely not. We do not ever transfer copyright ownership. A print release is all that is required to make copies.
Our preferred method is invoicing through our studio system which allows us to track our payments easily. If paying online isn’t your thing, we’ll accept cash as well. Please make any checks out to Melissa Goodsky.
Yes we do! Please ask us for details when setting up your session.
With a few exceptions depending on circumstance, we do not give refunds for session fees. We do not offer refunds for any digital or print products that have been delivered.
Yes we do! Please ask about military discounts. If you are a member of a federally recognized tribe, or a Bois Forte band member, please let us know upon inquiry.
Session fee payment is required to hold your spot. If you didn’t pay it, please do not expect us to show up.
