Their little round faces, chubby arms and legs, soft downy hair. We’re a little bit addicted to taking baby pictures, and it shows! This was our specialty for many years.

Bringing a new baby home is such a beautiful, if fleeting, moment. Everything passes by in a blur, and you wish you could capture every little detail and hold it in time. From their tiny toes, to the soft baby curls, there’s something magical about falling in love with your newest family member.
Luckily, we have photographs that can capture many of those moments in such an artful way. It’s why we have taken years to hone our craft, collecting props, and learning all the techniques to not only create beautiful portraits, but make the photo session memorable too.
We have several options to make it easiest for you to find the session style that suits your needs best. Some prefer to have us pose baby only, while others love showcasing the love between siblings and parents. Others need something to fit into their tight schedule, so we offer a session version that consist of only swaddle poses.
Regardless of your preference, you can expect the same level of quality and attention to detail, and of course, beautiful images to treasure for your lifetime and beyond.
Newborn Sessions
everything you need to know
When to book
We recommend booking your newborn session in advance, sometime around the beginning of your third trimester. We'll hold a tentative date for you around your due date.
Time sensitive
For best results, we recommend taking newborn pictures just after baby is two weeks of age. We do not take photos within the first two weeks. After baby has reached about 1-2 months old, it may be tricky to do certain poses. That doesn't mean you'll miss out though! We photograph babies of any age!
Session length
Depending on what type of newborn session you booked, sessions can take up to 4 hours to complete. It's a bit of a marathon, but totally worth it!
Feeding baby
While taking pictures, we will take frequent breaks so baby can eat. Keeping baby's tummy happy makes baby calm and relaxed. Some parents choose to prep some bottles ahead of time, and that's great!
Comfort
A comfortable baby is a happy baby. During your baby's session, if they are uncomfortable with a pose, we will scrap it. We let the baby call the shots!
Rescheduling
Since newborns go through mini growth spurts frequently, they can be fussy and more alert. Sometimes the day we work with them lands on a day where they are just not in the mood for anything but eating. In this case, we're happy to reschedule for a better day, when they're able to relax.

Taking your newborn
on location
Though it requires just a bit more planning, your little one can be photographed outdoors at a previously scouted, safe location. And here in Minnesota, even your backyard is likely full of beautiful areas to work in!
We’ll bring the props, wrap baby within the warmth of your home or vehicle, then pose them quickly. It’s just like working in a studio – but with a few extra steps.
